  • BMR1,370 kcal
  • TDEE (maintenance)2,123 kcal

Estimate, not a prescription

Equations miss lean mass and hormones. A 500 kcal swing is common. Medical conditions need a clinician.

Formula

  • Male BMR = 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age + 5
  • Female BMR = 10×kg + 6.25×cm − 5×age − 161
  • TDEE = BMR × activity

How it is calculated

  1. Enter sex, age, height, and weight (metric or imperial).
  2. Compute BMR with Mifflin–St Jeor.
  3. Multiply by the activity factor, then apply a deficit or surplus.

Questions

Why Mifflin–St Jeor?

It outperforms Harris–Benedict for most modern adults in validation studies and is the default in many clinical tools.
